Warts and All
Happy Monday everyone. With the brand new year here I’m sure you’ve probably been inundated with resolutions and lists, inspiration to start fresh or get a handle on those areas in which you’re lacking. On one hand I love the positive attitudes and motivations, on the other hand, it can be absolutely overwhelming and often the standards set are too high to reach.
This got me thinking about how much I embrace “warts and all scrapping”. To me that means being honest in your pages, both to yourself and your subjects, and having fun while doing it. Personally, when I scrap for my family, I want them to have a real snapshot of life from my perspective. Often that means scabs and dirty faces and the documentation that yes, sometimes they can be less than perfect. I’ve been known to succumb to hormones and let is show. I love to experiment, sometimes it works, a lot of other times not so much. Sometimes I use bad pictures because that’s all I’ve got. It’s why I have pages in my gallery that have journaling or page designs that kind of make me queasy looking back on them. I leave them there because that’s pretty much who I am, regardless of the visual proof. I’ve decided life’s too short, so I’ve set my own few goals for this year, I’m reworking, purging and decluttering with relish, but I’ll still be embracing the imperfections too.
After all the rambling, I leave you with my latest “Don’t care if the pictures bad” page
