Happy Saturday!  I hope you’ve all had a great week so far… I know my week has been a crazy one with all the fantastic applications I’ve gone through for my CT Call, plus I’ve got lots of new goodies in the works for the coming weeks…  So let’s get to this week’s new release!

I don’t do collabs very often, but when I do I always love how they turn out!  This week, the fabulously fun Lauren Grier and I have teamed up for our third collaboration called “Come Away With Me“… I absolutely adore this kit – it’s full of beautiful, calming colours and it really is suitable for girls AND boys (I’ve even scrapped my little guy with it, and believe me, it’s perfect for boys too!)

And here’s some inspiration from mine and La’s team, and even one from me!

Also, Darcy and I decided to re-release the “Skritch Skratch” font… It’s an oldie but a goodie, and this time it includes European characters!

Speaking of calls, I know a lot of you have been waiting patiently to hear the results of my latest CT Call… This was truly the hardest call I’ve ever been through – the talent out there these days is absolutely amazing, and it was a really tough choice!! I’m still waiting to hear back from a couple of people, so as soon as I do I’ll be making the announcement on who the lucky six are! Thanks for being so patient!

I just wanted to drop in and say a big thank you to everyone who has applied to the CT call!  The deadline has now been and gone, and I’m no longer accepting applications.  I’ve had a HUGE response to this call and I’m currently going through each application to make my decision.  You will find out from me either way once a decision is made, so don’t panic if you haven’t heard back from me just yet – it might still be a few days away!

It’s a card with a twist because when the reason for sending the card is over the recipiant simply removes the little felt flower and it turns into a keyring!

This is the card I made

To make the flower first cut out the felt shapes – you’ll need 2 flower shapes and 2 felt circles. I used my Nestabilities by Spellbinders dies to cut out my shapes but you could easily draw a flower or print a digital flower out, cut it out and draw around it

Make small (neat!) stitches to attach the felt circle to one of the flower pieces

Attach a pretty button to the centre of the flower

Then stitch the two flower pieces together around the edges

As you stitch around the edge catch in a length of coordinating ribbon threaded through a key ring

Set the keyring to one side now as you’ll make the card next

Print out papers and trim to size, attach pieces to kraft cardstock and trim

Print out a square of paper and adhere to a folded card blank

Tie a piece of ribbon (the same as the ribbon used on the keyring) around the patterned paper block and create a bow roughly two thirds of the way down – the bow and ribbon will represent the stalk and leaves of the flower)

Add a round sticky foam pad to the back of the felt flower, fold up the ribbon and keyring and attach to the card

Create a sentiment tag using a rubber stamp or computer font and tie onto the ribbon bow

Even without the keyring flower the card still looks pretty

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  I’ve had one of the busiest weeks I’ve had in a long time, so I’m looking forward to a bit of R&R this weekend, maybe even a bit of scrapping!

Laurie used Zoe’s beautiful kit Summer Days. I’m always drawn to non-people pages and I really like the photos and journaling here. I love the colors and  her use of  that great floral paper. It’s got a lot going on without being too much.  It’s a lovely layout overall. I’ll be sending a little something to Laurie very soon.
